Tired of being dependent on fuel sources that I would have to purchase from big box stores and determined to be more self sufficient without strapping a "bomb" to my back or listening to the sound of a rocket as I was trying to enjoy the tranquility of the woods, I designed the Happy Hiker Stove.
You can burn anything you can put into it! Grass, twigs, bark, paper, coal, nut shells, animal excrement, etc. etc. You can use fuel tabs in conjunction with tent pegs and aluminum foil or an alcohol stove inside. The base of a soda can filled with liquid fuel can be easily used as well.
